Receiving Money from Abroad

Nicaragua’s major banks (see separate section) also offer remittance services.

U. S. banks can wire money to banks in Nicaragua. You can always have a trustworthy friend or relative bring you up to $10,000 when they come to Nicaragua.

Automatic Teller Machines (ATM’s) are found all over the country. You can’t transfer money directly but can get cash advances from one of your credit cards. This is along with cashing a personal check is perhaps the fastest way to get money. Credomatic now has ATM machines in Granada for your convenience. There is a $5 withdrawal fee for using Credomatic machines.
