The first step to forming a corporation in Nicaragua is to form a “Sociedad Anónima” (S.A.): a judicial person or a legal entity, created under the authority of the law and capable of rights and obligations.

Despite improvements in recent years, establishing a business in Nicaragua can be a tedious process, requiring at least 6 different permissions.

1) Registry of Contributors (less than $1)
2) Municipal solvency (about $1)
3) Permission from National Police ($15)
4) Permission from Fire Department ($3)

The following paperwork must be presented to an Export Processing Center (Cetrex).
1) photocopy of Registry of Contributors (RUC) (less than $1)
